Weekly Homework Expectations
Compass Learning: Literacy
District 41 supports this learning opportunity. It is recommended that students spend 60 minutes per week on the activities provided by the program.
Independent Reading
The literacy teachers advocate reading nightly for 30 minutes. Students will set reading goals, keep a log and provide book talks on the books they have read.
Unfinished Classroom Work
· Students are required to complete any unfinished classroom work at home. (This includes assigned reading, writing, or word study exercises.) It is the student's responsibility to turn in all assignments

If you are absent, please remember that it is your responsibility to schedule a meeting with your literacy teacher to meet before school, after school, or arrange a time to discuss missed work.
Please Note: Occasionally, there may be a conflict resulting in special circumstances (illness, family emergency, traveling out of town, special performances, or championship games). Practices in sports, baby-sitting, and running out of time are not special circumstances.
